Meet Our Administrator

Joseph F. Mayer
"Retirement from the military did not mean retirement from ministry."
With over 26 years of dedicated service as a U.S. Navy Chaplain, Joseph Mayer brings a unique and powerful perspective to the leadership of our school. A retired Commander (O-5), his career has been defined by a "people-first" ministry, leading him from the decks of naval vessels to the mission of Christian education here in rural Mid-West America.
From the Navy to the Classroom
While many might wonder how a Naval Officer transitions to school administration, Joseph sees the roles as deeply parallel. As a Senior Chaplain, he has spent decades developing and leading teams of professionals, managing complex budgets, and administering policies—all focused on the spiritual and emotional well-being of thousands of service members and their families.
Whether providing one-on-one counseling, creating training programs, or managing large-scale resources, his leadership is rooted in the belief that administration is ministry. He is as comfortable navigating strategic planning as he is serving on the front lines, believing that no task is too small when it comes to supporting the mission of the Lord.
A Vision for the Next Generation
Pastor Mayer’s move into Christian education was born from a prayerful observation during his time in the chaplaincy. Having encountered many young adults who lacked a firm foundation in their faith, he became passionate about the necessity of a Bible-based education.
"A few hours of teen ministry a week cannot compete with five days of school time. Christian education is a mission of the local church to prepare children to face the world with both competence and conviction."

Our Mission

His goal is to ensure our students are not only academically prepared—capable of reading with comprehension and thinking rationally with facts—but also deeply grounded in the love of their Savior.
